Two Drink Recipes for the Perfect Valentine’s Day

It’s almost Valentine’s Day! Nothing says “I love you” like a tasty drink made by someone special. It doesn’t matter who you are celebrating with this year, these drinks are sure to impress any significant other, friend or family member. 

Blood oranges and rose petals

Blood Orange Spritzer

The Blood Orange Spritzer zesty, fresh taste will chase away even the worst cases of the winter blues. Make it for an evening in with friends or as a night cap after a romantic dinner.

Ingredients:

Makes 1 serving

0.5 oz Lighthouse Lemonade cordial

1.5 oz vodka

2 oz freshly-squeezed blood orange juice

1 cup sparkling water

5 pieces chopped fruit (fresh raspberries, strawberries or blood orange pieces)

Pinch of chocolate shavings, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine Lighthouse Lemonade, vodka, blood orange juice and sparkling water in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
  2. Pour the cocktail over ice and top with the chopped fruit pieces.
  3. Sprinkle a pinch of chocolate sprinkles over the drink and serve.

Raspberry Lemonade Float 

Part drink, part dessert, this Raspberry Lemonade Float is festive and easy to make! It’s a great non-alcoholic option for kids or anyone craving something sweet. Add in handfuls of your favourite fruit and don’t forget to top with lots of whipped cream: the pièce de résistance!

Ingredients:

Makes 1 serving

1 oz Lighthouse Lemonade cordial

1 cup sparkling water

1 cup vanilla ice cream

3/4 cup chopped strawberries & raspberries

Whipped cream, store-bought or homemade 

Directions:

  1. Mix the Lighthouse Lemonade and sparkling water together. Set aside.
  2. To build your float, layer the chopped fruits and ice cream in a tall glass, alternating layers.
  3. Next, add the Lighthouse Lemonade and sparkling water mixture to the glass.
  4. Top with whipped cream and enjoy!
