Lemon & Turmeric Superfood Tonic

To combat the winter blues, we are bringing you an easy, yet powerful drink recipe made with our very own Lighthouse Lemonade Cordial – the Lemon & Turmeric Superfood Tonic!

This soothing drink is packed to the brim with nutritious, ailment-fighting ingredients. Whether you are warding off a cold or just trying to detox post-holidays, serve up a warm glass of this tonic and reap the benefits of three key superfoods!

Lemon: Here at Lighthouse Lemonade we are very familiar with the health benefits of lemon. It is a wonderful source of vitamin C, an anti-bacterial, can help reduce bloating, the list goes on!

Turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and can provide relief for those suffering from autoimmune disorders such as arthritis, Crohn’s, or IBS. Turmeric is also an antioxidant, an anti-fungal, and has even been linked to lowering risk of brain diseases. It is best to combine turmeric with cracked black pepper, which increases the absorption of turmeric’s medicinal compounds.

Ginger is famously known for relieving stomach pain, indigestion, acid reflux, nausea, and bloating.

Ingredients (makes one serving):

  • 1/2 Tbsp fresh grated turmeric (or 1/2 tsp ground)
  • 1/2 Tbsp fresh grated ginger (or 1/2 tsp ground)
  • 1 Tbsp Lighthouse Lemonade Cordial
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 pinch cracked black pepper
  • 1.5 cups filtered water


  1. In a small saucepan, add the grated turmeric, grated ginger, Lighthouse Lemonade Cordial, cracked black pepper, maple syrup, and filtered water.
  2. Bring mixture to a simmer over medium heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain and pour mixture into a drinking glass or mug. Cheers!
